Kim Kardashian Biography

Kimberly Kathleen Kardashian was born October 21, 1980, in Los Angeles, California. The daughter of O.J. Simpson’s trial lawyer, Robert Kardashian, she and her siblings grew up in a world of immense privilege. They attended the best schools, they ate at the finest restaurants and they wore the latest designer fashions.

They also mingled with some of the world’s most recognizable celebrities and Kim soon developed an intimate bond with fellow celebutant Paris Hilton, whom she befriended in LA’s notorious party scene. Although Paris may have helped to raise Kim’s public profile, the Hilton heiress is far from the only A-lister in Kim’s Rolodex. Over the past five years, Kim Kardashian has also been romantically linked with pop star Nick Lachey, rapper The Game, actor Nick Cannon, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and R&B producer Damon Thomas, to whom she was married from 2000 until 2004. However, it has been her relationship with ex-boyfriend Ray J, an R&B artist, which has attracted the most attention.

The pair’s infamous coupling went under the microscope when the tabloid press began reporting that one of their private sex tapes had been leaked. Although Kim at first denied the video’s existence, the tape’s validity was later confirmed when it was sold to porn purveyor Vivid Video for the lofty sum of $1 million.

Although some suspect that Kim may have been responsible for leaking the video herself, she remained steadfast that she has been uninvolved in its sale and distribution. "Everyone is pretty disappointed and very confused as to what's going on and who's behind this," she has said. "We're just going to get to the bottom of this and do whatever we have to do to stop it." Kim has also made it abundantly clear that she doesn’t suspect her ex-boyfriend was involved. "I've always said I don't think this would be something that he would do for some reason to spite me," she said.

In addition to her burgeoning “film” career, Kim is also a part-owner of Dash, a Calabasas, California-based clothing store which she operates with her sisters Kourtney and Khloe. “We all have very different styles, so it’s a collaboration of all of our tastes put together!” she explains.

Amy Smart Biography

Amy Smart was born in 1976 in Topanga Canyon, California. As a young girl, she gained a reputation as a tomboy and was the only girl on her Little League baseball team.

She started to model at age thirteen and moved into acting after landing a role in the 1994 MTV Rock The Vote campaign. She broke into show business with small roles in television movies before making her feature debut in the 1997 independent film, The Last Time I Committed Suicide.

Smart later gained a small part in the Paul Verhoeven science fiction vehicle Starship Troopers. In How to Make the Cruelest Month, Smart played a seductress who betrays her sister. The horror film Campfire Tales followed in 1998, along with the Internet stalker thriller, Dee Snider's StrangeLand, written, produced and starring the front man of Twisted Sister.

Smart reached her widest audience, however, with a starring role opposite James Van Der Beek in the 1999 sleeper teen hit, Varsity Blues. The actress played Jules Harbor, a girl who dreams of escaping the football-obsessed culture of her town yet is linked to it as the sister of the high-school quarterback and as the sweetheart of his replacement, played by Van Der Beek.

Her portrayal of the intelligent Jules drew inevitable comparisons to Katie Holmes, co-star to Van Der Beek on the popular Dawson's Creek.

Smart would next be featured as a supporting love interest in the touching comedy, Outside Providence, starring Alec Baldwin. Those who enjoyed her performance got to see more of her, when she was cast as Ruby, Noel's girlfriend on the WB's Felicity, from the 1999 to the 2001 season.

In 2000, Amy starred in the disappointing NBC miniseries, The '70s, before her appearance in the gross-out teen flick, Road Trip. She can now be seen on the current video hit, Rat Race, with Cuba Gooding Jr. and Whoopi Goldberg, and you can catch her next in a small role in the upcoming film, Interstate 60.

In addition to her acting career, Smart is a spokesperson for an environmental group devoted to cleaning up the Santa Monica Bay.

Salma Hayek Biography

Salma Hayek was born on September 2, 1966, and raised in Coatzacoalcos, Mexico. Her religious parents -- father of Lebanese descent, mother of Spanish descent -- wanted to ensure that their daughter would be well-educated, and sent her to a Louisiana boarding school when she was 12. Sent back home for being a prankster, Hayek finished high school and was sent to Houston to live with her aunt until the age of 17.

Once a college student in Mexico City, majoring in international relations studies, Hayek finally decided to drop out (to her parents' chagrin) to pursue her childhood dream of becoming an actress.

Hayek started out doing local theater, including a role as the female lead in Aladdin and His Marvelous Lamp. Theater work eventually led to commercials, which finally led to a part on a series called Un nuevo amanecer. Hayek was considered a star in Mexico for her role as Teresa in the popular soap opera of the same name. This was, however, not enough for the ambitious beauty who had set her sights on Hollywood.

Hayek moved to Los Angeles in 1991, a complete unknown in a city full of aspiring actors. Foreign to the English language, Hayek spent the next 18 months taking English lessons, while perfecting her acting skills with drama teacher Stella Adler.

Although Hayek spent four months auditioning for a lead role that finally went to another actress, the film's director, impressed by her determination, cast her in a smaller role in the same film (1993's Mi vida loca, a.k.a My Crazy Life) so that she could become a member of the Screen Actors Guild.

Her big break had finally arrived, and it was mostly thanks to her appearance on a Spanish-language cable talk show. Director Robert Rodriguez caught Hayek's appearance, and knew he had to cast her for the sequel to his successful film El Mariachi: 1995's Desperado, opposite Antonio Banderas.

Roles in 1995's Fair Game and 1996's Fled did not do the actress justice, but with Salma Hayek websites finding their home in cyberspace and roles pouring in, audiences were sure to take notice of this Mexican beauty.

In 1996, Salma appeared in Robert Rodriguez's From Dusk Till Dawn with George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino, and starred alongside Matthew Perry in the 1997 romantic comedy, Fools Rush In. That same year, Hayek charmed audiences with her role as Esmeralda in a TNT rendition of The Hunchback of Notre Dame simply called Hunchback.

Hayek's film repertoire continued to expand, with a role as a cocaine-sniffing dancer in 54, based on the rise and fall of the popular '70s nightclub. She also starred opposite Jordana Brewster and Elijah Wood in 1998's teen slasher flick, The Faculty (also a Robert Rodriguez film), alongside Matt Damon and Ben Affleck in 1999's controversial Dogma, and opposite Kevin Kline and Will Smith in 1999's big budget disappointment, Wild Wild West.

In 2000, Salma kept busy with roles in Timecode, Chain of Fools, and she had a brief uncredited appearance in the Oscar-winning Traffic. After a role in 2001's Hotel, Hayek starred in the made-for-TV movie In the Time of the Butterflies.

In the meantime, Salma was working on what would become her pet project, Frida. A biopic of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, the movie was released in 2002, featured Salma in the title role, and was also co-produced by Hayek. The role garnered Salma Best Actress nominations by the Academy Awards, BAFTA Awards and Golden Globe Awards. She took home Best Actress trophies at the Imagen Foundation Awards and the Golden Camera (Best International Actress).

In 2003, Salma appeared in Rodriguez's Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over, as well as the sequel to Desperado, Once Upon a Time in Mexico.

In addition to her movies and accolades, Salma Hayek made headlines thanks to a four-year romance with Edward Norton (he appeared in Frida, and even wrote the final script). She has also been romantically linked with former fianc Richard Crenna, Jr. and actor Edward Atterton.

In 2004, Salma added the movies After the Sunset, the animated film Sian Ka'an (for which she lends her voice), Paint, and Murphy's Law to her resume. She also also starred in 2005's Ask the Dust with Colin Farrell and Val Kilmer.
salma hayek and ugly betty
Salma added television work to her resume in 2006, as she became the executive producer of the Golden Globe-winning Ugly Betty, and she even costarred on the show.

2006 also marks the year that she appeared in the film Bandidas with her best friend, Penelope Cruz. And she was cast in the 2007 films Keep Coming Back and Across the Universe.

Charlotte Church Biography

Charlotte Church hails from the Welsh town of Llandaff, Cardiff. She had wanted to sing ever since she was 3 and a half years old, when she belted out "Ghostbusters" at a holiday camp and had to be dragged off the stage.

By the time she was 8, she was performing at local karaoke competitions, and building her reputation as an incredible vocalist along the way. When she heard an announcement by TV personalities Richard and Judy that they were looking for children with talent, Charlotte called them and volunteered herself.

Once she sang "Pie Jesu" on the phone to the producers, they immediately invited her onto the show. Not long after, she appeared on TV yet again, on The Big, Big Talent Show. When the host asked her to perform, audiences were blown away.

Her vocal chords spread like wildfire, and she was in demand, most importantly by music producer/manager Jonathan Shalit. He introduced Charlotte to the Sony Music UK Chairman, who signed her to a multi-album contract on the spot.

Her first album was released in 1998, when she was a mere 12 years of age. Voice of an Angel reached double platinum status in the UK, and Charlotte became the youngest artist to have a number one hit on the classical charts, and the youngest to have a Top 5 hit in the UK -- beating out Vanessa Mae by a few years.

Once the album crossed the pond and "Charlotte buzz" hit North America, she was making her rounds on talk shows such as The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Show with David Letterman and The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Voice of an Angel, which includes songs such as the one that got it all started, "Pie Jesu", as well as "Ava Maria", "When at Night I Go to Sleep", "A Lullaby", and "Amazing Grace", reached the Top 30 on the US charts, again making her the youngest artist to reach such success in America.

By the time Voice of an Angel was released, audiences had the chance to see the young soprano live in concert, at Cardiff Arms Park in Wales, the London Palladium, and Royal Albert Hall. She was even invited to perform at the Vatican and for the Prince of Wales.

Her sophomore album, the self-titled, Charlotte Church, was released in 1999, while her latest album, 2000's Dream a Dream, is a collection of Christmas songs, and even features a duet with fellow prodigy Billy Gilman.

Making waves in America as well as the UK, Charlotte was invited to perform at the Presidential Inauguration of George W. Bush (she was also invited to perform for former president Bill Clinton for a Christmas Special), along with Ricky Martin, Jessica Simpson and Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Charlotte also performed with Wyclef Jean for a special fundraising concert in New York, the same month as the Bush Inauguration, sharing the bill with Mary J. Blige, Whitney Houston, Destiny's Child, and Eric Clapton.

Although Charlotte's vocals precede her age, she likes to live the life of a normal young woman, loves shopping (she has a wide array of shoes), and listens to singers such as Puff Daddy, Natalie Imbruglia, The Corrs, and Gloria Estefan.

She performed at Pavarotti's last UK concert, the summer of 2001 in Hyde Park.

While she has already broken music records, performed for royalty, and has wowed critics and audiences alike with her gifted voice, Charlotte still aspires to sing Madame Butterfly (her favorite opera) in Milan, and get a standing ovation. That doesn't sound like it will be too hard to achieve.

Melissa “Missy” Rothstein (Margera) Biography

Melissa “Missy” Rothstein was born June 3, 1980, in Springfield, Pennsylvania, to parents Marian and David. They were married in 1974 and were together until his death of a sudden heart attack in January 2001.

Missy met Bam Margera at Stetson Middle School in Springfield when a friend asked Missy if she wanted to go with her to watch her boyfriend skate. Although he was dedicated to his skateboarding and rarely in town, Bam remained friends with Missy, who graduated West Chester East High School in 1998 and attended Penn State University, where she graduated with a Bachelors Degree in communications.

Along the way, she’s worked a lot of jobs, starting as a babysitter at 12-years-old. She’s also been a waitress in a friend’s restaurant, a sandwich maker, a hostess, a busgirl and a Dairy Queen cashier. After college, she looked into public relations work and interviewed for several positions, but found nothing interesting enough to pursue.

In 2001, Bam thought of his friend Missy for a part in the movie, Haggard. During the experience, they fell for one another and dated for three months. When Bam and his ex-girlfriend, Jenn Rivell, decided to reconcile, Missy’s heart was broken.

After not speaking for two years, Bam and Missy were both single, and again sparks flew when they ran into one another. After three months, they moved in together; seven months later they were engaged.

Missy got her real estate license and worked for a while with ReMax, but needed more flexibility than the job offered to accommodate Bam’s travel schedule and now does graphics for Lane Signs. Her interests are reading all kinds of books (her favorite is The Witching Hour), loves the sounds (faves are Depeche Mode and Johnny Cash) and loves shopping and hanging out with her girlfriends. She also hopes someday to do volunteer work with the Make A Wish Foundation.

But there are more immediate concerns. After the wedding, Missy wants to dedicate herself to being the best cook for her husband and making beautiful babies! But before all that, the stunning young Rothstein gave the world a gift by doing a photo shoot for Playboy.

In late 2006, Missy did a photo shoot for Playboy Magazine with Bam Margera as the photographer. It was for the mag’s special celebrity photographer section. Missy went completely nude for the shoot (topless and bottomless).

Tara Reid Biography

Tara Reid was born on November 8, 1975, in Wyckoff, New Jersey. The daughter of Tom and Donna, teachers who run a pair of day care centers, Tara was immersed into acting early on. Of Irish, Italian, French, Hungarian, and English descent, Tara may have an All-American look, but her look has always been unique enough to get her acting roles, even as a child.

She made her debut in a children's television game show, Child's Play, in 1982, and then appeared in commercials for products like Crayola, Jell-O and McDonald's. Joining a class consisting of fellow child actors such as Macaulay Culkin, Jerry O'Connell, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Holly Marie Combs, Tara attended the Professional Children's School in New York, New York.

Tara Reid's earlier work includes a bit part in Saved by the Bell: The New Class in 1994 and a guest spot on California Dreams in 1996.

But in 1998 she scored her first high-profile role as Bunny Lebowski, the much younger wife of The Big Lebowski, in the movie of the same name. That same year, she appeared in I Woke Up Early the Day I Died, and had a larger role as a college campus DJ in the teen thriller Urban Legend, sharing the screen with Alicia Witt and Rebecca Gayheart.

1999 was Tara's breakthrough year. She appeared in the made-for-TV movie What We Did That Night and had a small role in Cruel Intentions, a teen-oriented version of Dangerous Liaisons.

After Around the Fire, Tara starred as Vicki in the surprise gross-out hit of the year, American Pie, along with sexy Shannon Elizabeth and Mena Suvari.

Now more of a recognizable star, Tara was seen in Body Shots (1999) and in the star-studded flop, Dr. T & the Women (2000); not even Helen Hunt or Kate Hudson could save that disaster.

But while 2000 was a quieter year career-wise, it was nowhere near boring for Tara, as she met former MTV VJ (and now NBC Last Call host) Carson Daly during Spring Break in March and he proposed that October. Tara and Carson called it quits in 2001, and the breakup allegedly led to Tara's brief bout with anorexia. By late 2001, she was healthy again.

2001 was a big movie year for Tara, with roles in Just Visiting and Josie and the Pussycats, co-starring Rachael Leigh Cook and Rosario Dawson.

She also reprised her role in American Pie 2, and took on another "college girl" gig as a high school paper reporter in the comedy National Lampoon's Van Wilder.

In 2003, Tara starred in Devil's Pond and played Ashton Kutcher's love interest in My Boss's Daughter.

In 2005, Reid can add Alone in the Dark (a thriller based on the video game), Wicked Prayer and Land of Canaan to her resume.tara reid in the news

Although Tara has not been in a memorable film since Van Wilder, she continues to make headlines. Known for her heavy drinking and party-girl lifestyle, Tara counts fellow partier Paris Hilton among her circle of close friends. One person she is not good friends with is Internet babe Cindy Margolis, whom she physically fought with. Margolis is married to Reid's ex-boyfriend, restaurateur Guy Starkman.

In addition to Carson Daly and Guy Starkman, Tara has been romantically linked to New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, Baltimore Ravens starting quarterback Kyle Boller and financial analyst Jason Ader.

While the paparazzi always seem to get shots of Tara Reid stumbling out of bars drunk, the most famous image of her is another "Nipplegate," which shows her left breast popping out of her dress as she arrived at hip-hop artist P. Diddy's birthday party in New York.

When she's not partying it up or acting, she also serves as a fashion consultant for her brother Patrick's clothing store, called Patrick Reid.
